A Miami native, James Hamilton’s rich art background was fostered from an early age, as he attended some of the more prestigious city art programs since he was a child. This started with Norland Middle School’s Art Magnet Program, which lead to him to Miami’s Design and Architecture Senior High School, where he studied fashion design. Upon graduation, he attended New World School of the Performing Arts, where he was recognized by his teachers as a up-and-coming conceptual artist. Around that time, James, who had a love of tattoo culture and was looking for an artistic outlet far off the beaten path, was awarded an apprenticeship under Ami James. Given the opportunity to learn under one of the top tattoo artists in the world, James left college and studied under Ami for 3 years. Since then, James has excelled in the world of tattooing, traveling the globe and plying his take on tattoo flash to his peers in tattooing. Recently, James began managing and operating the world famous Miami Ink tattoo parlour.

James’ art background extends far and wide, encompassing a broad range of dynamic and original thoughts which have led to his being a creative force to be reckoned with in the Miami art scene. His work is routinely featured in local galleries, and for his work he is routinely courted by celebrities and collectors alike.
